Youngstown RC Club (YRC) is a community where kids, families, educators, and hobbyists come together to play, learn, and innovate with remote-controlled (RC) technology. We’re a nonprofit on a mission to make STEM fun, accessible, and hands-on for everyone – no experience needed! Our club is politically and religiously neutral, welcoming everyone from all backgrounds. If you’re curious about robots, RC cars, planes, or drones (or you just love to tinker), you’ve found your happy place with us.
Fueling Young Minds Through Racing and STEM!
The Youngstown RC Club is more than just racing—it’s a gateway to learning. We give kids hands-on experience with electronics, coding, and engineering through the exciting world of remote-controlled vehicles. At events like Community Grow Day, families get to see how tinkering can spark creativity, build confidence, and open doors to future STEM careers.

Educators
Calling all teachers, mentors, and STEM champions – we’re here to support education in a creative way! YRC partners with schools and educators to bring robotics and RC activities into the classroom and after-school programs. Our curriculum-aligned workshops and demonstrations can enhance lessons in science, physics, math, and engineering with exciting real-world applications.
For Families
Bring your whole family into the fun! Youngstown RC Club is a family-friendly space where parents, grandparents, and kids can bond over building and racing RC creations. We offer weekend workshops and family build days so you can team up with your child on cool projects. It’s not just about tech – it’s about spending quality time together, sharing smiles when a project works (or laughing when it spectacularly fails!), and making memories. Families of all shapes and sizes are welcome, and you’ll find that our club feels like an extended family. No one is ever too young or too old to start tinkering!
For Hobbyists
Are you an RC enthusiast or a DIY tinkerer? Welcome home! Our club is a hub for hobbyists of all experience levels – from total beginners to seasoned builders and flyers. Join a community where you can swap tips, showcase your latest RC build, or test out that crazy idea you’ve been working on. We have members into RC cars, airplanes, drones, boats, and even custom robots. Share your expertise as a mentor or find a buddy to help you troubleshoot a project. We host regular meetups, fun fly days, and racing events to scratch that competitive itch or just enjoy the camaraderie. At YRC, you’ll find the tools, space, and fellow hobbyists to push the limits of what’s possible – one RC project at a time!
For Kids
Hey kids, this part is for you! Do you like fast cars, flying machines, or cool robots? At Youngstown RC Club, you get to drive, fly, and create them yourself! It’s like a real-life video game where you’re the inventor. Whether you’re 2 or 22, you’ll find exciting things to do: build your own RC car, program a robot to navigate a maze, or pilot a drone through an obstacle course. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried anything like this before – we’ll show you the ropes (and the remotes!). Our mentors are super friendly and love answering questions. We make sure everyone gets a turn and nobody is left out. You’ll make new friends, learn cool skills without even realizing it, and most importantly, have a blast. Come play and discover what you can create!
